Patricia Ackor, Artist Spinning Devil Creek  In Dutch the name of this place is Spiten Divel and, even though the photograph I adapted was taken more than 100 years ago, according to a New Yorker who saw my watercolor, the place on the West side of Manhattan island still exists with that name.
